Outstanding example of yellow gold Patek Philippe ref. 533 retailed by Hausmann. The present specimen is in absolutely superb condition. The amazing two tones dial is enhanced by the prestigious retailer name “Haussmann & Co” at 6 o’clock. The gold case is made by Emile Vichet (case maker number 9, inscribed in the Geneva Key engraved in the case back) and still retains all its original hallmarks.
Reference 533 first appears in 1937 and remains in production until 1956. It is regarded by many Patek Philippe aficionados as the quintessential 1950’s chronographs because of the elegance of its Calatrava case, the elongated lugs and characteristic flat bezel rather than concave one.
