Wonderful example of steel Rolex chronograph ref. 4500, manufactured in 1946. The dial of this two-register steel Oyster Chronograph has aged with a charming patina and is enhanced by the blue telemeter scale. A great example of subtle sporty style.
The reference 4500 was launched in the 1940s and represents a very important turning point for the design of the Rolex chronograph, since it introduced an all new case style with straighter, more pointed lugs. This feature is still found, until today, on all Oyster models of Rolex, ranging from the Datejust, to the Day-Date, to the Daytona.
