Panerai “The Radiomir ref. 6152-1”. Status: sold

Exceedingly rare and early example of Panerai “Radiomir” ref. 6152-1 , manufactured in 1955. This historical specimen represents one of the few first examples of Ref. 6152-1 featuring a “Radiomir” dial: they were made and delivered to the Italian Navy with 3rd generation sandwich dials made with RADIOMIR luminous paste. Also, This particular model was made without crown guard.

Around 1936, the Royal Italian Navy asked Panerai to create a watch resistant to extreme underwater conditions . The prototype, now known as “Radiomir”, was submitted to the First Submarine Group Command.
