Very attractive and rare 18k yellow gold Rolex Day-Date ref. 1803, manufactured in 1977.
Released during the mid of the 50’s, Rolex Day-Date was the first wristwatch to showcase the date and the day of the week, fully displayed trough an aperture on the dial. Made in an impressive variant of different dials, it represents one of the most glamorous timepiece ever made and a symbol of Rolex superb creativity.
The famous “Stella” dials were produced from the 1960’s to the 1990’s. They were fitted in yellow, pink and white gold or platinum cases.
The nickname “Stella” (Star in Italian) derives from the glistering surface of the captivating lacquer dials which were produced in an amazing variety of colors.
The present Day-Date ref.1803 is preserved in outstanding overall condition.
The spectacular burgundy lacquer dial is perfectly combined with the 18k yellow gold case. The applied diamonds indexes create an arresting contrast with the glossy surface of the colored background.
