Very attractive and rare 18k yellow gold Rolex Day-Date ref. 18038, manufactured in 1981.
Released during the mid of the 50’s, Rolex Day-Date was the first wristwatch to showcase the date and the day of the week, fully displayed trough an aperture on the dial.
Made in an impressive variant of different dials, it represents one of the most glamorous timepiece ever made and a symbol of Rolex superb creativity.
The present example is fitted with a wonderful exotic wood dial.
The natural veining of the wood with its multi tones of brown, are perfectly combined with the warm yellow gold case.
The dial features the day of the week in Italian and the gilt writing “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified”.
The 18k yellow gold case is enhanced by the vibrant fluting bezel. It still retains its full proportion with the hallmarks clearly visible on the lugs.
Definitely a great example of timeless luxury and elegance.
